If you follow me on Instagram (and I hope you do, but if not you can find it here), you’ll have seen me sharing pictures from the gorgeous wedding of Ella and John last year.
Ella and John had a beautiful intimate wedding with their family and friends that surrounded them with so much love throughout the day, it was special to witness and I was thrilled when they reached out on social media and asked me to photograph them.
We met at Forty Hall Café where we got to know each other and talked a lot about their big day. This is one of my favourite parts of the process. I love listening to the couple talk about their relationship, how they met, what they like, and their vision for their wedding – and so much more. John is totally and utterly in love with Ella and the together they make the perfect couple in love, it was clear from the very moment we met.
They opted for my half-day package which covered Ella getting ready with her friends and family, the ceremony, and some stunning shots around the grounds. At their request, there weren’t many shots of the whole wedding party, which meant we had plenty of time to really explore the gardens next to their outdoor ceremony.
Forty Hall is without a doubt one of my favourite venues. I’m lucky enough to have shot a few weddings there, each a special as the last, so I know the venue well. Forty Hall & Estate is one of England’s finest historic houses set in its own estate. The grounds are a beautifully well-preserved 18th century landscape, with an ornamental lake, fishing ponds, lawns and a walled garden. The house itself is Grade II listed, large building with many rooms and staircases. There are so many places for taking photos around the grounds and in the house.
Ella is a beautiful person inside and out and John is kind with a good sense of humour. It was a pleasure to photograph their wedding and even more so to have met them. I wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness.
