Burhill Golf Club, Walton-On-Thames Through our mutual friend, Jennifer, Donna and Tim heard about me and made contact. I knew straight away that if they are friends with Jennifer then they can only be lovely and I wasn’t disappointed. I drove to Surrey for our introductory coffee at the beautiful Burhill Golf Club. When you think golf club you don’t necessarily think it can be a stunning wedding venue but how wrong was I?! The building is one of the nicest I’ve seen and the interior would complement any theme. The grounds are just as gorgeous and give you plenty of photo opportunities. The staff are equally as great and it goes without saying that a venue is only as amazing as the staff that run it.

The Big Day

Donna chose to have her bridal prep in a suite on the fourth floor of the Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge which is right next door to Mercedes-Benz World. The suite was amazing with the biggest balcony I’ve ever come across. As bridal prep goes, I seriously loved this location. Everything about this hotel was great. With enough time to spare to grab some photos of Tim just before the guests started to arrive I was back at Burhill getting ready for Donna to arrive with her Dad. It was a special moment shared between Donna and her Dad when he saw her for the very first time in her gorgeous wedding gown. Donna was equally taken back by how smart her Dad looked all suited and booted. It’s these special moments that I treasure so much as a photographer, I love freezing these moments in time so they are remember long after the event has taken place. Back at Burhill all of Donna and Tim’s nearest and dearest were arriving and it was clear to see just how loved these two are. Everyone enjoyed a beverage outside on the terrace whilst waiting to be escorted inside. The ceremony room looked lovely and everything complemented the rooms neutral decor. A nice space for any bride and groom to say “I Do”.

The Ceremony

It was time. Donna entered the room with pure joy radiating off her ever present smile. It was  beautiful to witness. Tim was as proud as punch and couldn’t take his eyes off her. The ceremony was fantastic with Donna and Tim smiling and laughing throughout, they have such a fantastic energy together and it’s lovely to see. Donna gave an amazing reading which was a total surprise for Tim, it was beautiful and filled with so much emotion that the both of them ended up in tears. I must say it was hard for the rest of us, we all got a bit teary eyed. The rest of the day was filled with even more laughter and Donna and Tim’s couple portraits were no exception. From start to finish they relished being in each other’s company again and the smiles and laughs came as naturally to them as the air they breathed. I can’t ever imagine a happier couple. Back at the venue it was time for me to take photos of the reception. The details of Donna and Tim’s golf themed wedding (Tim is a professional golfer) were fantastic and so tastefully done. The colours and tones once again complemented the room and every table was lovingly thought out especially the kids table. The activity boxes and the balloons all made it inviting for the children to sit down and be entertained. The guests all got stuck in and the room was filled with chatter and of course plenty of laughs. Seeing how all the guests were enjoying themselves, I knew the rest of day was going to be just as amazing and I’m sure it was. Donna and Tim, thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer, it was a wonderful day and I loved every minute of it. Wishing you both many more years of love and laughter. Jeannine x
